My trip to Quituinan Ranch

It began with a desire and a longing to get out of the city because I wanted to relax in someplace I’ve never been. I’m a nature lover, and when I search on the internet for a popular tourist spot in Albay, Quituinan Ranch is one of the highly recommended places to visit. So I immediately planned my upcoming trip and booked a flight going to Albay, and it was Saturday afternoon when I arrived at Quituinan Ranch after riding a motorcycle (habal-habal). Then I paid the entrance fee, and the moment I started observing and exploring the place, I was in awe when I first saw the Mayon Volcano. I said wow! What a wonderful world to live in. The description of it as majestic is true; that “majestic” word is absolutely right, and it’s beautiful even when the view is in the foreground. It’s like a postcard picture. In my opinion, Quituinan Ranch is one of the best places in Albay to watch the majestic Mayon Volcano for hours because of its serene ambiance and wide open space. The fresh air, natural scenery, and slow-living vibes are what I like and enjoy about this place. Also, I think it’s a perfect spot for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers seeking a serene escape and peaceful ambiance, as the blend of lush surroundings and the stunning backdrop of Mayon Volcano makes Quituinan Ranch a must-visit destination for anyone exploring the Bicol region.

Then after several minutes, I sit on the grassy field and take my time reflecting while watching the volcano. The experience is something to remember. Although there are many tourists here, the place is very quiet, and the ranch is exceptionally family-friendly. I saw some families having picnics, while other visitors were enjoying the horseback ride with the epic views at the ranch. Quituinan Ranch bustled with all generations of citizens enjoying a casual walk and grabbing food and drinks. Also, several tourists are flying kites in a moderate wind, and in my opinion, it’s something surreal because Mayon Volcano is in the background and stands proudly in the distance, perfectly framed against the golden sky. To be honest, this place has a bit of everything, from a touch of history, breathtaking natural beauty, and all the space you need to relax your mind and body. With open spaces, horses, and relaxing vibes, this spot is perfect for anyone looking to disconnect and enjoy nature. Without a doubt, it’s really refreshing to do this kind of unwind thing once in a while. This place is so beautiful, and I can take unlimited pictures from any angle.

On the other hand, as a Filipino, I’m always wondering why Albay remains underrated in Philippine tourism despite having an airport. Mayon Volcano’s tourism potential is wasted. In my humble opinion, Mayon Volcano is even more imposing than Mt. Fuji in Japan because Mt. Fuji is beautiful only because of its iconic snow cap, while Mayon Volcano is known for its perfectly symmetrical cone shape. Mayon Volcano is perfectly beautiful on its own, no lights needed, just nature.

Then I perceived it’s not because it lacks beauty, but because more commercialized tourist spots in the Philippines often eclipse it. Candidly, Albay offers everything travelers seek: Mayon Volcano, stunning beaches, caves and lakes, underground rivers, warm, welcoming locals, and budget-friendly stays. Frankly, the Philippines is beautiful, Bicol is beautiful, and it will be even more without corruption. Anyway, I stayed at Quituinan Ranch for three hours, and I’m totally in love with this place and will definitely go back if time permits. All in all, I enjoy every moment of my travel because the world is full of wonderful places to explore and discover new things. Visiting the open space Quituinan Ranch has been nothing but an absolute treat, and I will never forget it.
